Alma Road’s Papadeli are now back in action with their foodie evenings! If you’re a fan of Spanish food and drink, book now for an evening of tapas on Friday, March 4th…
The menu showcases some fabulous Spanish ingredients and recipes, and follows hot on the heels of other such events organised by Papadeli in 2010, including a journey around Italy, and a “what’s in season supper” that I was fortunate enough to attend.
For just £35 per head, enjoy a fabulous menu as follows…:
Pitcher of Sangria
Spiced Catalan almonds, garlicky olives
Warm paprika spinach dip & flatbreads
Monkfish wrapped in pancetta & fragrant rosemary
Montenebro goats’ cheese, pickled beetroot & rocket salad
Crispy chicken & mushroom croquettas
Piquillo peppers stuffed with morcilla & roasted pepper sauce
Spicy chorizo baked with mushrooms & sherry
Teruel serrano ham with pan con tomate
Orange, black olive & fennel salad
Rich & spicy salad of chickpeas, tomato, aubergine & saffron
Moist almond & Seville orange cake with Manzanilla-soaked raisins & vanilla cream
Fruity Manchego Villarejo curado & membrillo
The evening begins at 7.30pm on Friday, March 4th. To book, phone 0117 973 6569, or email info@papadeli.co.uk

This looks fabulous Em. Being a real fan of Spain, I do love the passion that Spain, as a nation, has for food and the wonderful social ritual that goes with it too. This looks an interesting menu. I’d love to know what people think of ‘membrillo’. I love it. Fingers crossed, I can get to this on March 4th.

It does indeed! I’ve only had the chance to get to one of their evenings before, but definitely want to go back for another! Membrillo and Manchego are a fantastic combination, but I’ve found that quality of membrillo varies so much depending on where you buy it, I’ve made some very disappointing purchases in the past! Em
