Another new Bristol restaurant has appeared over the last week, with number 146 St Michaels Hill having been turned into a “traditional Italian restaurant” called La Passione, owned by the same people that are behind the restaurant of the same name in Kingswood…

I wrote earlier this week about the opening of Brace & Browns at 43 Whiteladies Road, previously home to Deason’s restaurant but standing empty for a few years before its recent reincarnation. Friday night saw the launch of another new restaurant in Bristol: Stokes Croft’s The Runcible Spoon. Situated on the old Cafe Kino site on Ninetree Hill, the restaurant aims to serve “affordable, high quality Modern British food”. In an age when many pubs are permanently shutting their doors (independent pubs, that is – the chains seem to be ever expanding…), it’s good to see new and interesting places on the scene.
