The Big Cheese Taste Off – October 19th

Posted on: October 13, 2010

After the success of the last Big Cheese Taste Off, held on the Grain Barge (write up here), we’ve been eagerly awaiting the next installment. Luckily we don’t have to wait too much longer, as The Kings Arms on Whiteladies Road will be hosting round two on Tuesday, October 19th.

The format is simple. Local cheeses are paired with local beers, wines and ciders. Those attending taste each combination, and decide which drink is the best match for the cheese. At the end of the session, the scores are totted up and the winner declared.

This round’s participants are the same, bar one. Bristol Beer Factory, The Orchard Pig and Trethowan’s Dairy are all returning to battle it out, and the wines will be provided by the Strawberry Hill Vineyard, located near Newent, Gloucestershire.

The taste off kicks off at 7.30pm at the Kings Arms, on Tuesday, October 19th. Tickets are £15 per head, and can be purchased by contacting the pub directly on 0117 973 5922.
