Those of you active on Twitter may already be aware of Ben, aka @number1wino. You may also be aware of his blog, at http://www.number1wino.co.uk. You may not, however, be aware of the fact that he is hosting his first ever pop up wine tasting on the evening of Wednesday, April 6th…
Ben has worked in the hospitality industry for around 10 years, and the wine industry for around 5 years: in wine shops, as a sommelier, and most recently as an account manager for one of the UK’s leading wine merchants. As well as “hoping to bring wine to the masses” via his blog, he has written for various local magazines and websites, and offers wine tastings, food and wine matching events and beginners’ wine courses to members of the public.
The April 6th event, however, will be his first pop up wine tasting. The location hasn’t yet been given (you’ll need to book to find out!) but the evening will begin at 7pm and can be booked for a donation of only £15 per head.
With sparkling wine to start, a selection of nibbles and 6 different wines – all with their own tasting notes – to taste and compare, it’ll be an informal evening that will allow you to mingle with other guests and discuss the wines that you are tasting. Ben will introduce the evening then will be available to collar and quiz throughout the night!
The evening should last between 1.5 and 2 hours, and places can be booked by emailing Ben on ben@number1wino.co.uk.
